Each product you submit for classification counts as one classification, regardless of whether you use image, text, or both. Retrieving a previous result does not count again.

On paid plans, extra classifications are billed at €0.10 each. On the Free plan, API calls return a 429 error when you hit the limit. You can upgrade at any time.

We benchmark against 630 EU EBTI (European Binding Tariff Information) rulings. Our current accuracy is 100% on 6-digit HS codes and 100% on 8-digit CN codes. Every classification includes a confidence score and alternative codes.

Customs8 uses the EU TARIC database and classifies products into EU Combined Nomenclature (CN) codes. This covers all 27 EU member states. The 6-digit HS codes are internationally standardized and valid worldwide.

A typical classification takes 25-35 seconds. The API is asynchronous: you submit a product and receive a classification ID, then poll for results or set up a webhook to be notified when it completes.
